It was a great week in Ghent, Belgium where Xitron welcomed dealers from seven countries for K2 certification. We put together an intense, immersive experience for them as they learned how to install, configure, and train this great new prepress workflow. It didn’t take long for the “students” to dive deep and explore functionality, while comparing their personal experiences with workflows of the past.
Getting a great deal of attention was the integrated imposition module, in conjunction with the browser-based job submission interface. Each of the attendees immediately grasped the power and automation possibilities these features provided, especially in comparison to workflows that use stand-alone imposition applications such as Preps.
Also instantly apparent was the blazing speed at which K2 performs. Whether it be the PDF-based trapping, dynamic imposition, or the Harlequin Core interpreter, jobs moved through the workflow so quickly that it caught many off guard. They also found the GUI to be intuitive and easy to work with.
Having passed the certification exam at the end of the training, each of the attendees have become Authorized K2 Dealers and can now offer sales, training, and support for the software. In attendance were Lab9Pro (Jos Somers and Steven Jacob) from Belgium, DGI-Graphic (Denis Gimenez) from France, PDF Impositions (Martin Muller) from Germany, SA GI N srl (Diego Zocca and Dario Brambilla) from Italy, ID-Soft (Daniel Lopez) from Spain, Matset (Serkan Coskun and Koray Oke) from Turkey, and GED (Dobromir Dochev) from Bulgaria.
