DMAX_FilmDensity.png

ThermoImpression™ Film is a specially coated polyester which, instead of being light sensitive like other graphic art films, is heat sensitive. When the imagesetter applies heat to the film, the reactive layer turns black and creates the image. Our thermal film doesn't require messy toners, dyes, inks or transfers.

Thermal Film Features:
• .005” thickness for better handleability
• Lays flat before and after exposure
• Dimensionally stable for accurate registration
• Light safe
• Produce dark films with density between 4.0 and 5.0

Use your existing TIFF RIP or bundle the equipment with a new RIP

Our Harlequin RIP software includes over 30 different dot shapes along with Stochastic (FM) Screening. Sending jobs to the RIP and output is easy – simply use a shared printer, or drag-and-drop PDF files into shared spool folders for processing. The easy-to-use interface and preview help you produce great-looking films, and the RIP's built-in positioning and ganging/nesting features optimize film usage.

Precision Screening.png

Over 30 Dot Shapes
Precision Screening

Exceptional Halftone Screening
Every Harlequin RIP-Kit includes Harlequin Precision Screening (HPS). When placing color separations on top of one another the RIP precisely calculates screen angles and frequencies to avoid moiré patterns. HPS also uses an adaptive screening technique that adjusts each halftone dot so that it is placed within one half pixel of its ideal location. The RIP allows users to control and manage resolutions (dots per inch or dpi), line screens/frequency (lines per inch or lpi), screen angles, dot shapes, scaling, crop marks, mirror image, negative/positive, rotation and much more. Our screening technology is also designed to work with a wide range of printing processes including Flexography, Offset Lithography, Screen Printing, Gravure, Engraving and Digital Printing.

Network Accessible Shared Spoolfolders

Drag and Drop files into Spoolfolders
Do you have PDF, PS, EPS, XPS, or TIFF files that are ready for processing? The Harlequin RIP allows users to drag and drop supported file formats directly into a shared spoolfolder for processing.

media-saving.png

Automated Ganging | Nesting

Save Media and Ink

This feature can be used to automatically gang or nest smaller jobs together saving you money on consumables.

MinimumDot.png

Minimum Dot Control

Highlight Areas Done Right
Users now have the ability to specify a minimum dot which eliminates the harsh edges often seen in highlight areas. This feature will give you great looking highlight areas and allow you to print highlights and perfectly smooth vignettes from 0 through 100%.

PDF_PS_XPS_Feature.png

Direct File Processing

Supports Multiple File Formats
Process a variety of file formats directly including PDF, PS, EPS, XPS, TIFF and more. Natively process the latest PDF and PostScript® Level 3 data with full compatibility from the latest design and printing applications.

pdf-verification.png

Control Strip PDF Verification

Certified PDF Processing
When enabled the control strip feature will verify that proofs and prints made from files transmitted as PDF/X have rendered correctly.

EnfocusPitStopPreflightFeature.png

PDF Based Preflighting

Preflight Files Quickly and Efficiently
The Harlequin RIP includes built-in preflight profiles based on the Enfocus PitStop library. This feature helps ensure the quality and consistency of the final product by streamlining operations and certifying PDF files before they are output.

StochasticScreeningFeature.png

Stochastic Screening

Stochastic Screening
The RIP included with the thermal imagesetters includes Stochastic Screening. With this option users can output using our FM/Stochastic screen sets, and now you can also output using a newly developed Stochastic Yellow feature. This feature allows users to output Cyan, Magenta, and Black along with any spot colors using Harlequin's conventional AM screen sets while applying a stochastic screen to the Yellow.

HarlequinRIPUserInterface.png

Simple User Interface

Simplified Job Control
The Harlequin RIP was designed with the end user in mind. The main RIP monitor window gives users access to pertinent job information while the newly redesigned output controller window allows users to manage jobs and control output.

SimplePagePositioning.png

Simple Page Positioning

Position and Placement Tools

Provides an easy method to position jobs on almost any output device.

Accurate-Color.png

Accurate Color

Pantone Plus Support for Extremely Accurate Color
The Harlequin RIP will ensure optimum use of the output device's color gamut. Pantone Plus support also ensures that emulation of Pantone colors printed using other inks (e.g. CMYK) are as accurate as possible. It is now even easier to achieve consistent, predictable and repeatable color reproduction across any number of devices through tight integration of the RIP with third party closed loop color controls.

VariDataFeature.jpg

Variable Data Processing

Variable Data
Need the fastest performance possible for your variable data print jobs? Harlequin VariData™ greatly accelerates the printing of variable data jobs that were saved either as PDF/VT or as regular PDF. It is one of the unique features of the Harlequin print engine that gives it amazing power and productivity.
