Slow Season, Smart Moves: Why Summer Might Be the Perfect Time to Upgrade to Xitron's K2 Workflow for Offset Prepress — Without Tapping Your Cash Flow
It’s probably obvious that, when talking with current and prospective customers about new software, not all discussions are technical in nature. Budget and timing are probably second and third in the topic hierarchy. In that vein, I recently spoke with some folks who were considering an upgrade to their current (read OLD) workflow. While they were impressed with K2’s functionality and ease of use, they were a little reticent to invest money in software right now, especially as things are “kind of slow” in the summer.
Two thoughts immediately came to mind: First, I get it. When it comes to spending money, you have to pay attention to cash flow. With all the challenges printers face these days (increasing labor costs, inflation, interest rates, paper costs), the last thing you want to do is overextend or deplete reserves. Even when the ROI looks good, it can be hard to pull the trigger.
That’s why Xitron continues to offer up to 24 months, Same-as-Cash. I say “continues” because we started making this available to customers during Covid. “Use Xitron’s money,” I told the customer. “At the end of the payment period you own the software license because it is perpetual, not a subscription.”
With that objection off the table, things being “kind of slow” worked in their favor. What better time to get trained on a new system? Fewer interruptions, more time to work through configurations, deeper dives into best practices . . .suddenly, everything makes sense.
If being more productive and less labor intensive is something you’ve wanted for your prepress department, it might be a good time to take the leap. Just do it with Xitron’s money.
