Navigator Specials and Upgrades

Navigator 7.1 offers support for PDF 1.5 files generated by popular desktop publishing solutions. Navigator 7.1 includes font emulation capabilities to automatically substitute a suitable representation for missing fonts from jobs rather than using Courier as the font. This feature will eumulate the type style in weight and width. This feature is perfect for ondemand jobs where time is of the essence.

Enhancements to ColorPro, Navigator's optional in-RIP color management provides greatly improved color rendition in overprinting and blending. Color management may now be applied at the end of the process and after composition for greater flexibility. Navigator 7.1 supports Version 4.0 ICC profiles.

A new in-RIP Simple Imposition option, perfect for most 2-up and 4-up jobs, is available in Navigator 7.1 for only $1,000. Step & Repeat, saddle-stitch and cut and stack are just an example of some of the imposition types supported with Simple Imposition option when used with PDF files. Cut, crop, color bars and annotations may all be added automatically during ripping.

Xitron has also upgraded the in-RIP trapping option, TrapPro, providing a more robust solution to trapping. Ask your Xitron Dealer how you can experience the enhanced functionality of TrapPro when upgrading your RIP to Navigator 7.1.

Navigator RIP Manager is a fully featured client/server based application that allows prepress operators to control and manager most RIP functions directly from their desktop. This powerful option for the Navigator RIP may also be expanded to include PDF creation and Preflighting with the addition of the PDF Tools option. Priced significantly below the cost of most workflow solutions, Navigator RIP Manager provides the perfect entree to workflow while protecting your existing investment in the Navigator RIP and it's options.

If you have been looking to purchase one of the new Epson K3 Ultrachrome printers, Xitron is also pleased to announce support for the Epson 2400, 4800, 7800 and 9800 with the new vDot-II plugin for Navigator RIPs. This plugin provides the ability to use a single RIP for both proofing and final output. Existing vDot users will receive a discount when upgrading to vDot-II.
