JDF
Job Definition Format (JDF) is a comprehensive industry standard designed to
enable “end-to-end” job ticket specifications. Eventually, JDF will allow different
applications and systems to communicate fully and effectively as jobs pass from
point to point in the prepress cycle, streamlining the entire process.
Xitron’s Navigator RIP is JDF capable, meaning Navigator 7.0 (and higher)
users will be able to add optional JDF components as they are released.
Simple Imposition
The affordably priced (US List, $1,000) Simple Imposition option offers great
flexibility in a powerful imposition solution that will fit the vast majority of
production requirements in the 2- and 4-up marketplace. In addition, when doing
step-and-repeat work, an “N-up” option allows for any number of jobs to be
placed, limited simply by the output size. Simple Imposition is an in-RIP
imposition solution allowing on-the-fly imposition, so last minute changes are no
problem to incorporate since imposition is done as a part of the RIPing process.
This is also perfect where different output devices may be used for proofing
versus final output which requires separate imposition schemes.
